Clean and Simple #153

Good evening hope the week is going well. It is getting very exciting, only 3 more sleeps and then I am attending the Stampin Up day out here in Auckland, they will be teaching us new techniques and show casing new products from the catalogue due to be released 1st September. Very exciting and I can’t wait.

For today’s card I have used a sketch from Clean and Simple, I tried to get this one done last week but I just couldn’t find the time, lucky for me they stay open for two weeks. I should have been finishing my swaps for the weekend but that can wait till tomorrow.

Here is the sketch:

Winged Friendship

Good evening, Today I have a card I have made for a friend to friend swap with Stampin’ Fun and Friends, I sent this one to Amy Fleming. The theme was ‘Winged Friendship’. On the Circle I have lightly sponged, for that technique I cut out a smaller circle and placed over the top then sponged, this left a lovely little ring around the edge that has no sponging. For the Butterfly I have used crystal Effects over the top. For the strip across the front I have made my own DSP to match the main image. I have then sponged the edges, but to give a different finish I have also sanded the edges to match the main DSP on the front.

Try Stampin’ On Tuesday and Sneak Peek

Good Afternoon,

It is a very windy day outside today and from what I hear a lot of NZ has had snow this morning, very exciting for them.

For today’s card I have done a sketch challenge for Try Stampin’ On Tuesday. At first I had no idea what I would do and then I thought why not use one of my new stamp sets (to be released on September 1st) and use my heat and stick powder with some beautiful glitter that I have had for a while now but have not used it. I love the out come and no this is not my first Christmas card for the year, but I can’t show you the other one just yet. I have used my border punch around the outside of the oval and cut nicks in it so I could bend it around the oval.

Now before you see the card, some of you may think this is not a sneak peek as I’m showing you the whole card, but I figured since you cant see the whole images I can call it a sneak peek.

Stunning Birthday Cards

Good evening, today I have two cards to show you, both are from very good friends of mine for my birthday, yes I know that was back in June but I finally have had a chance to take photos of them and post here.

The first card I have is from my best friend Nikki, this is a wonderful lady who I don’t know what I would do without her in my life. She is the kind of friend who I talk to everyday, whether I’m in a good mood or not, and she doesn’t mind. We get on so well and it doesn’t matter that we live three and a half hours away from each other these days.

Here is her card:

As you can see she has done a beautiful job here and I just love her sponging. thank you so much Nikki.

For the next card it is also from a dear friend of mine, Dionne. We both love scrapbooking and card making together as we try to do this once a  month. Dionne is also a great friend with so much love to go around. We met about 4 years ago when I moved to Auckland and we hit it off straight away.

Here is her card:

As you can see she has put a great deal of work into this one.  I just love her vase on the front, can you guess how she cut that one? yes that’s right she has used the ornament punch. I also love that little tag on the front, that is now on my wish list. Once again thank you so much for your friendship you are a great friend and helped make the move here a lot easier and nicer.

As you can see I got spoilt with these beautiful cards, and as always I look forward to seeing next years cards. (no pressure ladies)

Stampin’ Fun and Friends Sketch Challenge

Good evening,

Today I have a card to share with you that I have made for a sketch challenge for Stampin’ Fun and Friends. I have done a card using this sketch before but find it a very easy one to use.

Each month I make a card for a blog group I am in and it is called an ATC (artist trading card) for this we make a small front that is 2 1/2” by 3 1/2”. I have been making an extra one each time with the intentions of using them for a card. This sketch is perfect to use those ATC’s.

Here is the sketch:

Sunset Brayer Card

Good evening, sorry it has been a while since I blogged last, but with the school holidays just been I just couldn’t find the time. I have made a few scrapbooking pages but just need to add titles and journaling then I will post them up.

So over on Crafters Anonymous tonight the lovely Debi Ryan taught the girls how to do basic brayering. This is a technique I love doing and must do more of it. So the technique was a sun set brayer here is my finished card using that technique.

Sorry the photo isn’t the greatest they never are when you take the shot at night-time. I have used the lovely Victorian lace and a black button to finish my card, and I’m happy to say the lace in the new catalogue.
