Clean and Simple 109

Good Evening,

Today I spent the afternoon at my sisters and made my card for Clean and Simple. Its a very basic sketch this week and first I had trouble thinking of an idea, then I decided it was time to use the stamp set Just Believe, I love this set, I just haven’t found the right card to use it for. Well here is my submission let me know what you think.

For the flowers I have coloured my stamp using melon Mambo then highlighted parts using my Rich Razzleberry Marker. There are also two of each flower one flat and one shaped to give the 3D effect. I used the Boho Blossoms punch to punch them out and stuck them on with glue dots.

With the butterflies I have used my Aqua Painter and done some water colouring to give shading. (you can see if you look close enough)

Just Add Ink – Sketch Challenge

Good morning,

Last night I finally had a chance to look at the Just Add Ink challenge, because I am still on holiday in Hamilton I dont have many of my stamps here and have had to make the card using what supplies I brought and also what arrived in the mail this morning. I like this one, it was just by chance I had two butterflies already stamped and in my craft carry bag. As you can see I didnt have any DSP so I made my own then I sponged the edges to finish it off.

Ice Skating Scrapbook Page

Good morning,

Here is the second scrapbook page I did on Saturday, this one is of my daughter and her first time ice skating. At the local Westfield mall they have a temporary ice skating rink and for a gold coin donation we can skate for an hour. Caitie loved it, after about 5 minutes she was off on her own and even asked me to leave the ice so I couldn’t help her.

The following day we returned with her friend and once again off she went by herself.

Most of this page was done using the cricut machine. Sorry about the photos im on holiday this week and took the photos quickly before I left but I didnt realise how bad they were before now. The paper suits this page perfectly as its nice and sparkly and looks like ice flakes down the page.

Loads Of Love Scrapbook Page

On Saturday I had a lovely afternoon/evening with a few friends over to scrap. We started about 3pm and finished around 11pm. I managed to get 4 pages done and most of them were between 8pm and 11pm, once the kids were in bed.

The page im showing you today is using Stampin Up products, where as the other pages are not, I will how ever post them over the next week.

For this page I have used the DSP Prints Old Olive along side with Not Quite Navy and Old Olive card stock.

On the Not Quite Navy I have used VersaMark and stamped with Loads Of Love as Bradley’s feeding pillow has lots of cars and trucks on it. I have also sponged both Old Olive and Not Quite Navy on the card stock to finish the edges off.

Snow Swirled Christmas

Good morning,

Today I wanted to share a card I made last Christmas with Jacque check out her Blog here.

I really liked making this card we used a technique that I hadn’t used before where you stamp the colour onto the stamp then use a cotton bud and remove parts of it. Using a different colour marker we then placed the image back on the stamp and this is the result, a two toned tree or should a say a green tree with blue decorations. We have used the two-way glue pen and finished them off with dazzling diamonds and some ribbon. On the back ground we have stamped the snow images randomly over the page. I have also stamped on the inside and used dazzling diamonds to jazz it up.

Im pretty sure we used kiwi Kiss for the green but old olive would be great and would look fantastic.

The Card: it is a shame you cant really see the glitter on this card it really makes it.

Christmas Card Using Baja Breeze

Good morning, it’s another wet day outside so its perfect for what I have planned for the day. I have a few friends coming over this afternoon to scrap with me, at the moment I am holding an afternoon here once a month for my friends and myself to simply scrap or make cards, otherwise we just don’t find the time. Some people stay for a couple of hours while my good friend and myself normally keep going till around mid-night, I’m loving these afternoons its always great to have another opinion when you are stuck with a lay out.

Here is another Christmas card I have made. I have used the stamp set Snow Burst, unfortunately it is not available here in new Zealand but its a great Christmas set and im sure I will use it again heaps this year.

For the icicles I have used crystal effects and dazzling diamonds, if this is a technique you would like to learn I would love to teach you in a workshop. For the window I have stamped on whisper white and covered it in Kwik clear (jack paper) and sprinkled dazzling diamonds over it.

Mojo Monday Challenge – 157

This is my first Mojo Monday challenge. I love the sketch and found it great to work with.

For the first time ever I drew on a piece of paper the different sections of the challenge and then scribbled in each one to see if they went together. That way I knew what each shape would have in it rather than guessing as I went along and taking a lot longer to design the card.

I have just spoken to my sister who also has a blog, check it out here Sharna Russell, and it’s so funny I rang her to tell her about my submission and guess what she has just finished hers as well and the funny part is we have used the same DSP and colours on our cards, how scary is that out of all the Stampin Up Colours we choose the same two. However our cards are quite different.

I would have used the new DSP called Elegant Soiree but I lent them to a friend so I will have to wait till I get some more in. It uses the same colour scheme as Parisian Breeze (most of the colours anyway).
