Handmade Lanyard

Wow once again its a beautiful morning here in Auckland, lets hope it sticks around for a few more days yet, but as most Christmas days go it will probably rain.

As promised here is my beautiful lanyard that my upline Jacque made us for Christmas. It is so beautiful. When we received it I didn’t want to take it off so I wore it for most of the day, even to shops. one lady asked me as a joke if it was a stick up with the scissors around my neck, but instead I showed her the beads and she was amazed. She couldn’t believe someone could make them.

I did finally take them off later that day so they didn’t get ruined at my family Christmas party, and thank goodness I did since my sister decided to throw not one but two cups of water over my head. But as a laugh she kept the second cup down her pants so I couldn’t see it, and I think that back fired a bit, as every time she got up she got wet (sucker). Anyway it was a great day all round and I cant wait for Christmas day for my children to open their presents.

Jacque and the girls did a great job. We even go to choose a colour and of course since my favourite colour is blue this is what I choose. I have been meaning to purchase a pair of these scissors for a while but my wish list keeps growing and the scissors keep being pushed back (since I have a pair of other scissors) but now I have some and its great, I cant thank you enough Jacque you are a great friend and a very talented lady, Have a great Christmas and new year.

Life is a Matter of Moments

Good morning,

It is a lovely day here this morning it is only 7am and the sun is shinning already. we have a big day planned today, I am taking the kids on a bus into downtown Auckland to go and look at a shop that does their whole shop up in Christmas

Today’s post is a diary I have made for a few lovely ladies in my life, well I know one uses a diary and I hope the other does too. We made the first one in class at Jacques a few months ago and I just loved the idea. The diary’s come from the two dollar shop and then you just design your front and put it back in the plastic case. the first one uses the stamp set Just Believe but I wanted to do something a little bit different for the second one so I have used the stamp set Elements of Style. For the back ground I have used Crumb Cake but stamped off on paper first so the image was faint. I then used my markers and coloured the main image in Regal Rose and Soft Suede. There are three layers at the back. Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. I have sponged around the Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. In the top right corner I have curled it and placed a piece of Bella Rose DSP there. It also has a brad to finish it. I thought the sentiment in this set was just perfect for a diary.

Just Add Ink #48

Good afternoon,

On Saturday it was my 6th Wedding Anniversary. Although it was a very busy day we both had a good day. It started with myself going to my up lines house for a beautiful breakfast which I will blog about tomorrow, then we headed to Hamilton for my family’s Christmas celebration. That was so much fun and the kids had a great time too. Later that evening we attended one of my husbands friends engagement party for a few hours, so as you can see it was full on but very enjoyable.

The card I made Nick also fits in with this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge so I thought I might as well give it a go. The sketch isn’t quite perfect but it does have all the right shapes and basic layout. The heart was cut out on the Cricut Machine.

Here is the sketch:

Clean and Simple #120

Good afternoon, its a lovely day here in Auckland, a bit to not but otherwise very lovely. Just a quick post today.

Today’s card is one I have made for this weeks Clean and Simple
Challenge. I have decided to be a bit different with this one and used colours I would not normally use for Christmas. I really wanted to use the Crumb Cake card stock, not sure why just had that colour in my head. I still wanted some traditional colours in it so I added the DSP Jolly Holiday to the card. for the swirl I have used Soft Suede and the ribbon is Old Olive.

Mojo Monday # 168

Good morning, last night I had a look at this weeks Mojo Monday and knew straight away what I was going to do with that sketch. I have just received my new order of goodies and couldn’t wait to use them. To tell you the truth I cant believe I waited to long to order these two stamp sets. Baroque Motifs and En Francais, they look amazing together.

For the Christmas tree I have embossed it in gold and sponged the edges to finish it, same with the piece with the sentiment on it, that is also sponged around the edges. The background has a larger area that is sponged to give the aged affect.

I didn’t have any ribbon in Cherry Cobbler as Stampin up don’t seem to have any in this colour so I got out my DSP and cut a strip, this is a good way to make your own ribbon for this situation.

Clam Shell Box and Top Note Bag

Good morning,

Today is a bit cloudy here but a nice temperature to start the day with, I already have the windows open to let in the breeze.

For todays post I have two projects we made at Jacques house last week. One is the amazing and clever little clam shell box and the other is a stunning top note bag. We used the new Island Oasis DSP papers for the clam box then embossed it in the new embossing folder called Textured Impressions, what a great effect that folder gives, yesterdays card also uses that folder check it out here. The box is quite easy to make once you get all the score lines right.

For the bag we used three top note dies, embossed one and sponged all three. we also used the DSP called Love letter on it. inside to stick it all together is a brown paper bag.

Just add ink…….. Critters

This week on Just add ink, is Just add Critters. I have cased this card, sorry I have no idea who’s it is, so if it is yours please take credit and write a comment. I have changed a few things but the layout is the same give or take.

I have used a variety of products on it including the Two step Bird Punch, DSP, Top Note Die, Ribbon and the stamp set Occasional quotes. (level 3 hostess)

I have sponged around the top note using the same colour ink just to give it a darker outside edge.
