Happy 40th

Good evening, I know this post isn’t about a card but I really wanted to share with you what I was working on last week for a very good friend of mine who turned 40 and her darling husband and sister threw her a surprise party. I can’t believe it but it actually was a surprise, she had no idea. I thought instead of a gift I would make the cake as my gift. it took me about three days to make and in total about 12 hours to finish.

Here is my gift to Megan, sorry about all the photos:

The top with all those hand moulded flowers, although I did use a cutter to get the shape then I moulded them in my hands to bend the petals and get the shape right. no I didn’t count how many were on the cake.

Using the Cricut cake we cut out this fabulous decoration, thanks to another wonderful Friend Julia.

Can you see the embossing, I pressed a folder against the icing before it set too hard. I rolled all the little balls by hand.

Missing In Action + some exciting news.

Good evening, I have been hard out making cards to sell at my local school and also beem making gifts for two secret sister swaps I am involved in, I can not show you those just yet but as soon as I can I will. I have also been making some cute Christmas cards, which I am hoping to blog this week.

But more exciting news for me, I have been asked to make cards for a local shop to sell, she brought one of my cards at the school and contacted me to make some for her, so tonight while watching TV I finished the first 10 cards, that’s only twenty to go. I also have to make up some party invites to show her and best of all CREATE a santa House, yes you read right. I have been given a solid wooden letter box to turn into a santa letter box, but kitted out to look like a house inside and out. (a lot of work in that one)

So lets hope some time in the next few days I will post a few cards.

Narelle.

Camera Mystery and Birthday Photos

good evening, I’m am so sorry about my lack of posts lately but it seems my camera has gone missing and it is no where to be found at this point in time.

We are pretty sure my son who is 23 months has taken it somewhere but he has hidden it so well we can’t find it anywhere.

Anyway here are some photos from my daughters birthday party in the weekend, as you can see she had a massive day with all her friends and family.

Birthday Girl:

Her Friends, about 26 of them:

The cake, what you can’t see in the photo is that I embossed the white icing to give a lace look, I also gave her earrings, and a matching necklace. She also has chocolate wings:

And the last photo is of my son, who also had a ball in the play house at the hall:

Have a great week and we will keep looking for the missing camera.

Life is a Matter of Moments

Good morning,

It is a lovely day here this morning it is only 7am and the sun is shinning already. we have a big day planned today, I am taking the kids on a bus into downtown Auckland to go and look at a shop that does their whole shop up in Christmas

Today’s post is a diary I have made for a few lovely ladies in my life, well I know one uses a diary and I hope the other does too. We made the first one in class at Jacques a few months ago and I just loved the idea. The diary’s come from the two dollar shop and then you just design your front and put it back in the plastic case. the first one uses the stamp set Just Believe but I wanted to do something a little bit different for the second one so I have used the stamp set Elements of Style. For the back ground I have used Crumb Cake but stamped off on paper first so the image was faint. I then used my markers and coloured the main image in Regal Rose and Soft Suede. There are three layers at the back. Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. I have sponged around the Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. In the top right corner I have curled it and placed a piece of Bella Rose DSP there. It also has a brad to finish it. I thought the sentiment in this set was just perfect for a diary.

Sorry about the photos I hope you can see the details:

I will try and post the lovely gift Jacque made for us tomorrow and that will be all from me this year. Have a great Christmas and New year.

Handmade Diary and Jar

Good morning,

Today’s post is from Jacques class last night, what a fun night and two amazing projects, we made two things and this time no cards, we made a jar (well decorated one anyway) and made a diary for next year.

For the diary we used the antique look, which I love, with the stamp set Just Because. We also used the antique Brads and pearls. All the edges were sponged, and we used the spritzer tool for the background.

 Here is my Diary:

For the jar we used the Scallop border punch around the recipe and around the top of the lid under the gingerbread man. We stuck it to the jar using sticky strip and folded so it fitted the circle top.

The ribbon is from the bundles offered by stampin up if you buy the required bundles.

 And here is the jar:

The back of the jar to see the layers. This would make a great door prize or a present for that someone who likes to bake but doesn’t like the mess, you just add the dry ingredients and go.

Have a great day, my goal today is to try and get the Mojo Monday done.

My new Ring

Thought I would quickly put up a post of my new ring, this photo is of all three together, dont they look great. I must brag I did design my wedding and eternity bands.

I got my eternity ring for loosing my goal weight of 25 kgs and keeping it off for 6 weeks. I called it my reward and im glad Nick agreed. I love it.

As I walked out of the shop I must admit I did think about what do I need to annoy nick for now, (selfish I know) but hey I am a girl after all and I love jewellery.

 Have a great day.

Christmas Ornament and 3D projects

Good Morning.

This is the third post from Stamp Camp. We did a few ornaments and 3D projects as well as cards and some scrap booking. Today’s post are the ornaments and 3D projects.

The little house is a Christmas ornament that you can hang from a tree, it has windows on each side with cute little pictures in each. On the back it has trees. The top is really glittery and so is the star.

The box is so sweet, the lid comes off completely you could fill this with anything and it would great as a gift. We used blender pens to colour in the pictures. Dont you just love the new colour Daffodil Delight.

The red one has a lip balm in it and we all decided it would be a great stocking filler. This is also using a new colour called Poppy Parade and Pear Pazzazz.

The box:
