Bleaching Technique #2

Good morning, Just a quick post today as the kids and I are heading to Hamilton for a couple of days.

As promised here is the second card we made at jacque’s. We black embossed the image so the bleach is contained. don’t you love the finish it gives with the card dry embossed after the bleaching is done.

sorry for any demos reading this that is going to stamp camp, I think I will do something similar for my swap.

Bleaching Technique

Last night I went to a class at Jacque Pederson’s house. Each month she is teaching a new technique and this month was bleaching. All I can say is WOW, what a great idea, and what an amazing result it creates. today I will show you the first one we made and ill post the second one tomorrow .

for the first one we used the new celebration set called Bliss, this is my favourite and of course the first one I have ordered from the catalogue. We stamped on the top note die then we brayered all the edges. we then stamped the stamp into everyday house bleach and onto the card, you can see the ink disappearing right in front of you. You can see a better view of this in the second photo its the flowers above the bottom butterfly. I love how we did the ribbon. so you don’t see any edges we used the crop-a-dial and but a hole in the card stock. you then thread the ribbon through and the end is nicely tucked away underneath.

Dont you just love this set.

Clean and Simple #123

Good afternoon, it is raining here in Auckland but it is still very warm.

A lot of New Zealanders went back to work today including my husband so its been a very interesting day with the kids. Caitlyn had a friend over this morning and they had a little tea party together, that was so cute. Poor Bradley I don’t think is handling the heat so well, he has had a small sleep but is so grumpy im thinking of putting him back to bed. Im not sure if its a stage but he is 18 months old and at the moment he seems to stop, drop and cry at everything, half the time no one is even near him.

Anyway while he did have a small sleep I managed to get this card made. For once it only took me about 30 to 40 minutes to create. Its for this weeks Clean and Simple Challenge. I used the technique “thumping” on the tree to give it two shades of green. I used Old Olive and Garden Green for this. For the ribbon I have used two different kinds. One in Old Olive, pretty sure its Taffeta, (from the Christmas giveaway promotion) and the other in the Taffeta ribbon Early Espresso. I thought they went together quite well and gives a nice finish. Im not one for so much empty space on a card but I think on this one it keeps it simple and tidy.

Happy New Year and Clean and Simple #122

Wow I cant believe it has been so long since I last posted. we had a fantastic Christmas here in Auckland then a very nice holiday at the Mount. We then came home for a few days and went back on holiday at Waihi Beach. I do have to say I started going into withdrawals since I didn’t take any craft stuff away with me. So today being our first day back I got straight into my craft room and made this weeks Clean and Simple, actually I think its last weeks sketch but they are open for two weeks, I will do this weeks hopefully tonight or tomorrow. So here is my card, I know a few people have used the butterflies on their cards but as soon as I saw this sketch I know exactly what I wanted to do.

I have sponged all the edges including the butterflies. For the embossed image I have sanded the top and give this effect, and used the pearls to finish the butterflies. Im not sure why as these are not normally the colours I would use but I had green and purple in my head for this one.
