Bubbles of Fun Scrapbook Page

Good morning, it’s a beautiful day today although it’s cold the sun is shinning so it can only get warmer as the day goes on.

The other week I had a good friend come over and we had an evening of scrapbooking. I made 5 pages which is a record for me to make in one day. Although I did cheat a little, we always have a sketch challenge that I choose, but we both really liked it so I made three pages using the same layout, but different colours and embellishments, these will also go into different scrapbooks so it doesn’t matter.

Here is the page:

Crafters Anonymous Online Class

Last night I attended my first ever online class, it was so much fun once I worked out how to view everything as it was being taught. This is a class taught through online chat so it is written instructions, but they post photos as you go through each step.

We were given a list of items needed to complete the class before hand, but no idea as to what we would be making, it could range from a scrapbook page or a card to a 3-D item.

Last night we made this stunning spinner card. I have never made one so it was great going through the steps to complete it. Everyone’s card turns out differently as we can choose any cardstock and any DSP.

Here is my attempt, as you can see I have stuck to neutrals with one colour. Since this was my first online class I wasn’t game enough to use too many colours.

The circle piece spins around so it’s just hanging by a piece of thread.

Thanks for looking, have a great night.

Last Minute Entry For Try Stampin On Tuesday #11

Good morning, Last night I attended my first ever online chat class. I have to say I was a bit confused at first as I didn’t know my way around but once I worked it all out I had a great time and made a fabulous card, I will post that tomorrow.

Well late last night after the class I finally got round to finishing my card off for this weeks sketch challenge for Try Stampin On Tuesday. I have turned the sketch around but it still works. I have kept to neutrals with a hint of colour in it and sponged all the edges softly to give a slightly aged look.

I can’t wait for next weeks sketch, why don’t you give it ago.

Here is the sketch:

Masculine Birthday Card

Good morning, I hope everyone had a great Easter and like me ate far too much chocolate.

Today is ANZAC day here in new Zealand, although I don’t have family (that I know of) who died in the war, I do have a lot of friends who do, so my heart goes to them today as we remember the lives lost.

For todays card I have a masculine card I made for my father earlier this month, my mum got him a tool box for his birthday so the card really suited the occasion.

The tools have been stamped in staz on then coloured in using the markers. On the lower part of the card I have used Versa Mark to stamp the tools on the card stock. The belt is card stock and I have used a marker to put stitching across the top and bottom, the notches in the belt are eyelets.

And the inside:

sorry I forgot to get a photo before I wrote in it.

Happy Easter Hunting

Good afternoon, we had a fantastic morning this morning. We started with chocolate chip pancakes, then the kids gave daddy and mummy their eggs, (yum) and Nan-Lyn gave the kids her eggs that the Easter bunny left for them at her house. I then gave the kids an empty Easter basket I made and we did a big Easter hunt outside.

Both kids had a great time, this was Bradley’s first Easter hunt and he did really well, He had to find the blue and yellow eggs where as Caitlyn had to find the red and pink eggs.

Here are some photos of their baskets and the kids on the hunt.

As you can see they had a great time, I can’t believe how much chocolate is sitting on my table right now. We also got Caitlyn a chocolate Rotator, so she can make her own and see how they are made.

Have a great Easter everyone, and for those attending the Anzac parades tomorrow I do hope the weather improves for you. When the kids get a bit bigger I would love to take them to the dawn parade, so they understand more about what tomorrow is for.

Thanks for looking, and since it is going to be a pretty wet weekend I should be able to get a few posts up, some scrapbooking pages, some 3-D items and of course hand made cards.

Have a great Easter and enjoy the chocolate.

JAI #64

Good afternoon, Todays post is just a quick one, I took a look over at just add ink and this week is all about chocolate, well it is supposed to be your favourite wrapper but hey with children the wrapper doesn’t matter it’s the chocolate inside, so what better time to post a cute scrapbook page I did for my daughters first Easter egg.

Take a look at her face there was no way she was going to share that egg, even if it was bigger than her.

Try Stampin on Tuesday #10

Good afternoon, it’s a cold and very windy day outside today so what else could I do but make a card, and perfect timing as I was running out of time to make this weeks Try Stampin on Tuesday challenge. I have two sick family members in bed and fast asleep so I managed to get a few hours to create.

I thought my card suited the day outside perfectly, its Autumn here in New Zealand so all the leaves are starting to fall off the trees, which my daughter loves, her bag is often filled with them when she comes home from day-care.

for the leaves I have used Whisper White Cardstock then sponged in Pear Pizzazz and then very carefully lightly sponged in Cajun Craze around the edges to give the changing colour effect you get in Autumn. For the sky I have used scallop ovals and a sponged around them to create the clouds. The grass is also sponged on.

Here is the Sketch:

Here is my card:

In the weekend I had a very good friend of mine over and we scrapbooked, I did a record 5 pages, One double layout and three singles, check  back for those later in the week.

Book Worm Scrapbook Page

Good morning, as always it was a very early start to the day, the kids are getting up way too early these days.  I did this double page a few months ago but forgot to post it.

Nick was lying on the couch reading his book when Bradley decided to join him. He even went and got his own book pulled his pillow over beside the couch and laid down to read. He even held his book up just like daddy, (although it was upside down at first) it was very cute.

I have used the circut to cut out the book shape and title but everything else is Stampin Up product. With the book mark I have used the Grosgrain Ribbon and just pulled a thread at the bottom to create the tassel. For the truck I have stamped straight on the page for one side and on the other I stamped onto accate first then pressed down onto the page for the image to transfer onto my page, this gave me the truck going the opposite way.

Have a great weekend, I have one packed with lots of craft training so I cant wait.

Try Stampin On Tuesday #9

Good morning, I finally finished my Easter ATC swaps yesterday so last night I had time to do this weeks Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch. From the minute I saw the sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to create with it, the only problem was getting it to work together. I am quite pleased with the finished result, I find using a lot of bright colours really hard to work with.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

And a close up:

The antennas are made with the butterfly punch by cutting one out then putting the punch back in the same place but up a bit and you punch again this gives you the very top of the butterfly and there are your antennas.
