A Little Gift For Me

Good afternoon,

Well there is a lot of digging going on outside of my house at the moment as we are putting in a retaining wall at the back and taking out some dirt at the front to make it bigger.

Todays post is a lovely card I received from a good friend of mine Dionne. A couple of weekends ago I helped cater for her work function at the zoo, it was great fun and I know a lot of her work mates which makes it even better. As a thank you she made this pouch, and she even designed it. I have already told her I will be casing it.

Here are the photos:

She has used the Pick a Petal stamp set with Felt flowers along with the DSP Parisian Breeze. I love that paper.

I was very spoilt with what they put inside, although my husband did ask if a baby sitter came with the movie tickets. (cheeky buggar)

thank you so much Dionne I enjoy working with you, and your work mates are very friendly.

Have a great day.

Just For You

First of all, my heart goes out to anyone who knows of the men or their family down in the mine, it’s a real sad time here in New Zealand.

Wow it has been nearly a week since I last posted, sorry about that it has been a very busy few weeks and one day just rolls into the next. On an exciting note we are finally getting our back yard started tomorrow, we have a terrible slope and we are putting in a retaining wall to try and get some of that land back. we are also having our front yard dug out too. I have been waiting for over a year for this to happen so in a way it’s really exciting and in a way I don’t want to get too excited in case it doesn’t happen. I do have to say I have a new builder doing it and he is great, excellent with communication and really enthusiastic about what we can do.

For todays post I have a card I made in a class with Jacque but I have re-designed it a bit. I have used the DSP Bella Rose (retired) I love this paper. the hand bags are made from punches and so is the handle and buckles. I have given the right hand side a torn effect just to be different. You know what I have just realised apart from the sentiment on the front and a little picture in the centre there is no stamping on this card.

I have added this photo because the first one is a bit blurry.

JAI MEETS CLEAN AND SIMPLE

This morning I had a lovely friend over for a few hours and we made some cards together, well I made one and Julia made a few, but it is so much nicer having someone to discuss ideas with and not just talking to the card stock, which of course doesn’t seem to talk back.

Anyway I made this card for this weeks Just Add Ink #43 and also this weeks Clean and Simple Challenge #116.

If I was to do this again I would do the card smaller so there wasn’t as much open space.

Clean and Simple Sketch:

and Just Add Ink this week is Just Add CHRISTMAS, so here is my card:

The trees are stamped in VersaMark then clear embossed. the the stars or snow flakes are VersaMarked then embossed with a mix of Dazzling Daimonds and Clear embossing powder. The shape is cut out on my cricut using the new and limited release, Christmas Cards cartridge, and is placed on dimensionals.  The ribbon is one of the free ones that Stampin Up are offering at the moment.

Splash Scrapbook Page

Good Morning,

Today’s post is the last scrapbook page I made last Saturday. This page was a challenge I set from a sketch on pagemaps.com/.

Here is the sketch:

and here is my page:

I have used VersaMark around the edges to stamp a sea shell image there, I have also hidden the journalling as I didn’t want it to impose on the page. Dionne had some small shell in her box of goodies and they finished the page off nicely.

Stamps

  • Seaside (retired)

Card Stock

    • Sahara Sand

    • Baja Breeze

    • Basic Black

    • DSP – Elegant Soiree

I am annoyed I forgot to take a photo of Dionne’s take on the sketch, whereas Julia made a card using another sketch I printed out.

Have a great day. I am off to design another card, however in this case I will be casing a beautiful card.

    Ornament Hot Air Balloon Card

Good morning, I saw someone use the ornament punch like this so I thought I would design my own card but using the same idea.. I also made it for this weeks sketch challenge for Mojo Monday, which of course I have missed again. I seem to be getting good at that, going to upload it, when the linky run out just hours before.

Anyway I still have the card so I might as well post it for you to see.

    Here is the Sketch:

Lovely as a Tree Masculine Card

    Good Morning,

Wow what a fantastic weekend, My sister Sharna came up from Hamilton to look after my two children so hubby and I could go and have a weekend away. I organised this over the last couple of months as a surprise to Nick for his birthday last week. When I picked him up from work on Friday he was surprised that the kids were not in the car with me, I then took him to his favourite restaurant in the city, after we went to a hotel, (which he expected to go home) the next day we went on a three hour cruise on the Waipa Delta that served up a lovely 4 course dinner, and stayed in the hotel another night. Thank you so much Sharna it was lovely to have some quality adult time and no time restrictions to hurry back to.

Here is a card I promised to put up on Friday but the day just got away. I made this for Nick for fathers day, he calls it his favourite card so far.

I have brayered the top piece with Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise on glossy cardstock and placed it on dimensionals. The rest is layered but all pieces are framed. The chocolate chip strip is stamped using VersaMark.

    Bright Girls Scrapbook Page

    Good afternoon,

Today’s post is my second scrapbook page I made on Saturday. This is a double page layout and I do have to say im not the best when it comes to brights but this page is perfect and it fits her dress perfectly.

     Here is the pages:

    page one:

    page two:

The colours are Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizzazz. The DSP is from Sweet Always. (retired) the circles are cut out of the 1 3/8 circle punch then trimmed.

The Journal is hidden behind one of the photos so its not part of the page, im liking this way of journalling as it doesn’t invade the page.

Have a great day and tomorrow I will post my last page I made.
