Happy 40th

Good evening, I know this post isn’t about a card but I really wanted to share with you what I was working on last week for a very good friend of mine who turned 40 and her darling husband and sister threw her a surprise party. I can’t believe it but it actually was a surprise, she had no idea. I thought instead of a gift I would make the cake as my gift. it took me about three days to make and in total about 12 hours to finish.

Here is my gift to Megan, sorry about all the photos:

The top with all those hand moulded flowers, although I did use a cutter to get the shape then I moulded them in my hands to bend the petals and get the shape right. no I didn’t count how many were on the cake.

Using the Cricut cake we cut out this fabulous decoration, thanks to another wonderful Friend Julia.

Can you see the embossing, I pressed a folder against the icing before it set too hard. I rolled all the little balls by hand.

Pinterest Tuesday

Good evening, tonight I have a card that I made for my fellow demonstrators that have celebrated their birthday either in July, August or September. Yes I know I am a bit late for the July ones, but hey better late than never right. Over at crafters Anonymous they have a challenge and that is every Tuesday to case a card from Pinterest. For the first time ever I thought I would give this ago.

Here is the original card I liked, sorry I don’t know who made this one.

I love this card but I needed to make a dozen of them so I scaled it down a bit. Here is my version:

Hope you have a great week.

Need for Speed

Good afternoon, today I have a boys card to show you. These I find the hardest to make as my son is only 3 so I don’t really need to make these ones very often. The cars at the bottom were just meant to be in Versa Mark but when I put clear embossing powder over the sentiment it wasn’t quite dry and also got embossed, but that’s ok it still looks good. I just love this sentiment stamp and can’t believe it is going in just over 2 weeks. I finished it off with Hemp Twine which is also going.

Create – I love this card.

Good evening, today I have a fabulous card we made last night at Jacques card class. I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and just loved it so I sent a picture to Jacque and she re-designed it and came up with this.

A New Baby is Like the Beginning of All Things….

Good evening, as promised here is the second card I designed for another teacher leaving for maternity leave at Caitlyn’s school, but this time it is for a little boy. I have made this very much like the one I shared last night but I have not used a bow but instead a simple knot.  And of course I have used Subtle Blues and Greens for this one. Once again I have stamped the wheel on patterned paper and cut them out and placed on Dimensionals to give them a lift. So which one is your favourite?

A Child is the Greatest Joy Card

Good evening, tonight I have spent at least 3 hours on the computer putting through some orders for the retiring stock that will be leaving the Catalogue at the end of the month. It’s a hard choice as you need to decide whether you will use it once it has gone or if you will miss it and regret not getting anymore.

I have a card to show you that I made last week for a teacher at Caitlyns School that left for maternity leave. I also made a second one that I will share with you tomorrow night. This card is a A3 sheet of cardstock folded in half so a rather large card but it needed to be so everyone could sign it.

I have used the stamp set called Baby Bundle and the matching wheel that goes with it. I have stamped on patterned paper and then cut it out by hand to get the baby Tees at the bottom. The baby pram has also been cut out by hand.
