Santa House

Good morning, firstly I will let you know there are a lot of photos in this blog to show you every angle of the house.

I made this santa house for a shop up the road that sells girls pretty dresses and dress ups. I was given no idea on what she wanted, it was simply to be a letter box for the girls to post their wish lists to santa in. So here is my house. I designed this with little girls in mind (since that is who she has in her shops) it helped that I have a 5-year-old girl so I knew just what she would want to see.

The house: Captions for each photo minus this one are the top of the photo not underneath.

For the door I have embossed the cardstock and then sponged it. I have cut out a stamped reef and placed a little bow at the bottom. The window is a basic stamped image and then boarded to look like a window.

One side, I embossed the window box and sponged it. the flowers are made with the bird punch and the Teeny Tiny Flower punches. I have stuck peals in the centre of the flowers and given them dimension by curling them. the Stamped imaged is embossed and finished with a gold star Brad on top of the tree.

The other side, here I have done the same but finished it differently, I have used a stamp and the stuck …………… over the top and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over it. I have placed a piece of acetate over it to give the sense of glass. The icicles are made from Crystal Effects and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds while still set.

Now the inside: For the main area I have made a cute little fire-place, this have to be my favourite part of the house. I have embossed the wallpaper and made a 3-D fire-place including Chimney, this is also on the roof for santa to sit in. the stockings are hanging on pegs and can be moved if needed, I also made fire for the inside of the fire-place. The Christmas Tree is made from my Cricut and I just cut out a few and made it into a 3-D one.

The couch is from a little set I brought from the shops, I thought it suited a little girls shop perfectly. For the pictures on the wall I cut out some Christmas paper and framed them. on the other wall I made a mirror that was also framed. On the floor I made an oval rug finished with the Delicate Doilies punch.

For the top shelf  have placed the rest of the little furniture here and some more pictures on the wall. This isn’t the main focus so I didn’t want too much up here.

now for the roof: On here I have used Duvet stuffing (sorry can’t remember the real name right now) and drizzled a bottle of Crystal Effects over it to give the sense of icicles. I then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over it to sparkle. The Sleigh also came in the little furniture pack, it was actually a carriage with a horse but it fitted perfectly. I cut the reindeer out of cardstock on my Cricut and of course I made the lead one with a red nose. They are tied together with silver strings by a loop I made for their necks.

Well I think that’s about all, sorry once again for the long post, The lady did end up changing a bit as she wanted elegant not girly. Next time I know to ask for more instructions and to find out exactly what she wants. This took me about 13 hours to complete so I was pretty gutted when I found out. But I loved the end result that I made so to me that’s all that matters.

Farewell Card

Good evening, earlier this week my husband asked me to make his work college a farewell card, now he had mentioned earlier in the month that he wanted one, but he wanted it to be a bit more personal as he has worked with this guy for a while so wanted to help design it. Yes he forgot about it until the last-minute so we designed it and made it in one night. What a rush but I really like the finished card the size is a A3 folded in half so quite a big space to fill. But thank goodness with the cricut you can change the size to suit.

Now as you can see by the card he loves science and Formula One Racing.

I have used all Stampin Up cardstock except the silver and the alphabet is from the Medium Alphabet Sizzix Die Set.

Here is the card:

Bubbles of Fun Scrapbook Page

Good morning, it’s a beautiful day today although it’s cold the sun is shinning so it can only get warmer as the day goes on.

The other week I had a good friend come over and we had an evening of scrapbooking. I made 5 pages which is a record for me to make in one day. Although I did cheat a little, we always have a sketch challenge that I choose, but we both really liked it so I made three pages using the same layout, but different colours and embellishments, these will also go into different scrapbooks so it doesn’t matter.

Here is the page:

Book Worm Scrapbook Page

Good morning, as always it was a very early start to the day, the kids are getting up way too early these days.  I did this double page a few months ago but forgot to post it.

Nick was lying on the couch reading his book when Bradley decided to join him. He even went and got his own book pulled his pillow over beside the couch and laid down to read. He even held his book up just like daddy, (although it was upside down at first) it was very cute.

I have used the circut to cut out the book shape and title but everything else is Stampin Up product. With the book mark I have used the Grosgrain Ribbon and just pulled a thread at the bottom to create the tassel. For the truck I have stamped straight on the page for one side and on the other I stamped onto accate first then pressed down onto the page for the image to transfer onto my page, this gave me the truck going the opposite way.

Just Add Ink #48

Good afternoon,

On Saturday it was my 6th Wedding Anniversary. Although it was a very busy day we both had a good day. It started with myself going to my up lines house for a beautiful breakfast which I will blog about tomorrow, then we headed to Hamilton for my family’s Christmas celebration. That was so much fun and the kids had a great time too. Later that evening we attended one of my husbands friends engagement party for a few hours, so as you can see it was full on but very enjoyable.

The card I made Nick also fits in with this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge so I thought I might as well give it a go. The sketch isn’t quite perfect but it does have all the right shapes and basic layout. The heart was cut out on the Cricut Machine.

Here is the sketch:

JAI MEETS CLEAN AND SIMPLE

This morning I had a lovely friend over for a few hours and we made some cards together, well I made one and Julia made a few, but it is so much nicer having someone to discuss ideas with and not just talking to the card stock, which of course doesn’t seem to talk back.

Anyway I made this card for this weeks Just Add Ink #43 and also this weeks Clean and Simple Challenge #116.

If I was to do this again I would do the card smaller so there wasn’t as much open space.

Clean and Simple Sketch:

and Just Add Ink this week is Just Add CHRISTMAS, so here is my card:

The trees are stamped in VersaMark then clear embossed. the the stars or snow flakes are VersaMarked then embossed with a mix of Dazzling Daimonds and Clear embossing powder. The shape is cut out on my cricut using the new and limited release, Christmas Cards cartridge, and is placed on dimensionals.  The ribbon is one of the free ones that Stampin Up are offering at the moment.

Three Birthday cards in one weekend

Today’s post is mostly a non Stampin Up post. I had three birthday cards to make this weekend and of course I left it to the last-minute. Two were for one year olds and one was for a three-year old. I don’t really have any stamps for little ones so I got out the cricut and quickly cut out some things, here are the cards I made.

For a one year old boy:

For a Three year old girl:

I am still working on faces, but I think im getting better.

All the card stock is of course Stampin Up, the quality is amazing and is so easy to work with.

For a one year old Girl:

The Cupcake tops are made with puff paint but while it was still wet I added some sprinkles (beads) then after about 12 hours, once it has dried you heat the paint and it puffs up, I have received a lot of very nice comments on how effective the sprinkles are on the top. and don’t forget the cherry on the top.  A bright red pearl.

I have used the scallop circle punch and the 1 3/8 circle punch here. I have also used two of the stamps from the set, Cheery Chat, (retired.)
