Clean and Simple #148

Good Evening,

Here is the second card I made on Sunday, it is for this weeks sketch challenge at Clean and Simple. I have used a ribbon flower that my sister Sharna showed me how to make. I have also used my new stamp set called Bring on the Cake.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card, as you can see I have flipped the image to the Left had side as this card opens side ways not up and down:

Clean And Simple #133

Good afternoon, Well I have returned from my holiday in Melbourne and am getting back into a routine. Melbourne was great, we did a lot of shopping and attended the Grand Prix.

Today I have made a card for this weeks clean and simple challenge, I haven’t done this challenge for a while and I quite liked this weeks sketch. Once again I have done black and white with a touch of colour (seems to be my favourite at the moment).

I have used the embossing folder Elegant Bouquet twice but the second time I have turned the image upside down and stuck it on dimensionals. Since the embossing part is only on one side I thought it would be nice to give the other corner some embellishment, and to even out the card.

I have used Vellum for my strip across the top as I didn’t want anything too obvious there. The butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings die and finished with some small Pearls.

Clean and Simple #131

Good afternoon, last night I sat down and made two cards, yes that’s right two cards in one night. My first one is for this weeks Clean and Simple sketch.

For this card I used the colour coach to help me out, as I knew I wanted to use Rich Razzleberry for the flowers but couldn’t decide what other colours to use.  so the colour coach gave me Pretty in Pink and Early Espresso. At first I wasn’t too sure about the Early Espresso but it came together nicely. I embossed the cardstock with the Textured Impressions folder but it was too much so I put it back through using another folder and the result was great you can see the textured impressions behind the swirls but it is only faint so it works well. As for the flowers I wanted each set to look different but this stamp set only has two flowers in the pack and I didn’t want to use any others, so I stamped the large ones in Rich Razzleberry and the smaller ones in Pretty In Pink. with the curled ones on top I stamped in Pretty in pink after Rich Razzleberry without cleaning the stamp, this gives a slightly darker shade of pink. I simply used my piercing tool to curl the top one up.

Clean and Simple #123

Good afternoon, it is raining here in Auckland but it is still very warm.

A lot of New Zealanders went back to work today including my husband so its been a very interesting day with the kids. Caitlyn had a friend over this morning and they had a little tea party together, that was so cute. Poor Bradley I don’t think is handling the heat so well, he has had a small sleep but is so grumpy im thinking of putting him back to bed. Im not sure if its a stage but he is 18 months old and at the moment he seems to stop, drop and cry at everything, half the time no one is even near him.

Anyway while he did have a small sleep I managed to get this card made. For once it only took me about 30 to 40 minutes to create. Its for this weeks Clean and Simple Challenge. I used the technique “thumping” on the tree to give it two shades of green. I used Old Olive and Garden Green for this. For the ribbon I have used two different kinds. One in Old Olive, pretty sure its Taffeta, (from the Christmas giveaway promotion) and the other in the Taffeta ribbon Early Espresso. I thought they went together quite well and gives a nice finish. Im not one for so much empty space on a card but I think on this one it keeps it simple and tidy.

Happy New Year and Clean and Simple #122

Wow I cant believe it has been so long since I last posted. we had a fantastic Christmas here in Auckland then a very nice holiday at the Mount. We then came home for a few days and went back on holiday at Waihi Beach. I do have to say I started going into withdrawals since I didn’t take any craft stuff away with me. So today being our first day back I got straight into my craft room and made this weeks Clean and Simple, actually I think its last weeks sketch but they are open for two weeks, I will do this weeks hopefully tonight or tomorrow. So here is my card, I know a few people have used the butterflies on their cards but as soon as I saw this sketch I know exactly what I wanted to do.

I have sponged all the edges including the butterflies. For the embossed image I have sanded the top and give this effect, and used the pearls to finish the butterflies. Im not sure why as these are not normally the colours I would use but I had green and purple in my head for this one.
